Thoughts at the moment...

What an amazing avenue we have before us to share God's word and the message of Jesus Christ! Blogging is all new to me, so please be patient. One desciption of blogging was comparing it to a diary entry. Well, now, I can do that! My thoughts at the moment are racing with excitement, and a bit of fear, of the unknown. God's word says He has thoughts of me that are of peace, a future, and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). So, I'm trusting Him with the unknown - it will all be good. Stay posted for new postings to come.

Congratulations! You did it! I know what you mean about fixing typos. I have the same problem on my Avon Cancer Walk Blog. But you know what? God doesn't care about that, He is only concerned with your heart! For all we know, someone just needs to see us as human!!! Something to think about! Love, Ann

Renee's Artist Statement...

Making mud pies in the sand box my father built is one of my earliest childhood memories. It was the highlight of my days, and I used every kitchen utensil my mother would allow! Not much has changed over the years. Playing in the clay remains my favorite expression of art; but as I evolve and mature as an artist, the exploration of techniques is leading me to create using additional mediums.

Regardless the form, my work reflects control, symmetry and details. It often conveys sentimental references to my spirituality and love for my family and home life. While much of it is functional, I also enjoy searching for organic shapes, found objects and the unique unexpected microscopic elements of nature. These treasures are incorporated as texture and designs in clay, or I render the findings with a unique perspective in photography, drawings, paintings, or mixed media.

My art often involves the process of assembling a sum of the parts by connecting pieces together to create one whole unit. Many times the outcome has a biomorphic form of shapes and patterns reminiscent of nature. As a maturing artist, I am thrilled with each new medium and technique I learn which is transforming me into a multi-media artist instead of strictly a ceramic artist. With much eagerness, I continue to explore how I will use each new discovery in my next creation.

Renee's Bio...

Renee Joyner Moore is a native of Wilson County and currently resides in Greene County of North Carolina with her husband, Scott. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art and Design from Barton College of Wilson, North Carolina. Renee’s concentration of study is ceramic arts, but she considers herself a multi-media artist and is constantly exploring various mediums to express her creativity. Her art has been exhibited at Barton College of Wilson, Wilson Community College, and Zynique Creations and Arts in Wilson. Her creations are currently available for purchase from Living Well Down East in Kinston, North Carolina and Zynique Creations and Arts in Wilson, North Carolina, or contact her directly. Renee is a member of the local Wilson Active Artists Association and several other national arts organizations, as well as Interpreting organizations. Within her dual career as a professional Sign Language interpreter, she holds national certification for interpreting and transliterating along with a North Carolina License in the field of Sign Language interpreting. She also has an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Interpreter Education from Wilson Community College.
